Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) is a method of utilizing solar energy through a clean thermal technology. CSP technology uses mirrors to concentrate the solar rays onto a receiver, resulting in a huge rise of temperature. At this moment CSP installations are mainly used on large scale (solar power plants). CSP technologies can be divided in three different kind of systems, Parabolic trough systems, Dish/engine systems and Power Towers. These systems each use a different kind of mirror configuration to convert the sun's energy into high-temperature heat. In contrary to PhotoVoltaic solar cells, CSP technology uses solar heat instead of solar light.
